Sea-Monkey Resurrection

Sea Monkey Home

This is where the Sea Monkey live.  They have been dormant for several years.  My last batch died a year and a half ago, and I let them sit waiting until the time was right to resurrect them.

That's right, the eggs can survive for years in a suspended animation like state.  There is a lot of nerd stuff involved, so I'll skip it.

The gist of it is, When the eggs are put back in to water, and the temperature is right, and there is sunlight, they hatch from the eggs... to live again.

What are sea monkeys?  They are apparently a type of Brine Shrimp.  You can buy their cousins in aquariums as live feed for your fish.

The above shown picture contains almost 2 years dead sea monkeys.  I have added water to the container.  The container also has the salt/water-treatment which will allow the sea monkey to survive.  But food?  I don't have the sea monkey baby food that normally comes with the pack of eggs, so many will not live.

Only the strongest will survive! The successful monkeys will live to be big enough to eat the normal Sea Monkey food.

Hopefully.  If they croak, then I'll have to buy new packs.
